– [Dr. Wydel] Hi I’m doctor Adam Wydel and today I’m going to give you three stress reduction techniques to help stress headaches. So, the first technique
that you can utilize, I call it, be your own coach. And what I mean by that is no matter where your at work, at home, out
shopping it doesn’t matter. Give yourself a time out. Right? And what I mean by that is I want you to give yourself five to ten minuets of you time. Take a walk, go sit in your car. Anything you need to do to get away from technology. Just five or ten minutes allow that philological change
just to calm yourself down. Now the second thing you can do, which is up a level , is a breathing technique. And this creates indefinite, well studied, philological changes in the body, and reduces cortisol. So, we call it the four,
eight, seven breath. And it’s very, very simple. You can do it right in your desk or at work, or wherever you’re at. You’re going to inhale through
your nose for four seconds. Hold it for eight, and then exhale for seven. So again, you’re going to breath in for four, hold for eight, and then exhale for seven. And as I said, that’s going to create a philological change and you’ll feel the difference, and you’ll feel the calm that’s come over you. The third thing that you can do, is very simple. Its moving your body. Right. Stretching, yoga, and I’m not talking about high intensity workouts, but simple things that you can do. You know, yoga allows us
to get into our bodies, out of our brain in that stress area but to listen to our
body while we stretch. If you don’t have time for a yoga class, you can find one online, you could just do your own stretching. Listen to your body, listen to what your body needs, and just get into it at a physical level and get away from the mental. So those are three simple things that you can do to help
