Country singer Chely Wright has revealed that she suffered a stroke one year ago – just days after her 48th birthday  Wright, now 49, took to Twitter Friday with a statement, revealing for the first time that she had a stroke on November 1, 2018, when she was in New York City  ‘Exactly one year ago today, I went to the ER at Lenox Hill Hospital because I was on Day 3 of a migraine, which isn’t uncommon for me,’ she wrote   Chely Wright took to Twitter Friday to reveal that she had suffered a stroke exactly a year ago  Wright said she was making the news public for the first time and included a statement about how she learned that she’d had a stroke in the days following her 48th birthday ‘Because I had shows booked for the coming weekend, I wanted to get this headache out of the way Lauren and I dropped the boys at school and headed to the ER,’ she said, referring to her twin sons, wife, Lauren Blitzer, and Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital  Wright went on to write: The doctor I saw – whom I’d seen before – was troubled by some [of] the symptoms of that day’s headache After a series of diagnostic tests, I was informed that I’d had a stroke.’Wright noted that she had just turned 48 at that time and that she ‘sort of knew’ that she’d had a stroke  ‘What I had been experiencing with that headache and leading up to that headache was different,’ she wrote ‘I’d even said aloud to myself in the bathroom mirror, “Did you have a stroke?”‘ Wright (in hat, with a fan) said in her statement that she went to the ER after suffering a three-day migraine, not an unusual occurrence for her, she noted Wright said she suspected she had had a stroke because the migraine felt different than her usual ones She then urged fans to become familiar with the symptoms of strokes for women  RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Father, 38, drowns while trying to save three of his sons Driver dies after being swept away in East Coast floodwaters. We have to fix that.’In her tweet, which included the statement, Wright told her fans to ‘Please read and if you’d be so kind as to RETWEET, I’d appreciate it very much ‘In women, according to the Office on Women’s Health, stroke symptoms can include numbness or weakness of face, arm, or leg; confusion or trouble speaking or understanding; trouble seeing in one or both eyes; trouble walking, dizziness, or loss of balance or coordination, and severe headache with no known cause   Wright is currently on tour and released her latest album, Revival, in May.
